ReDiscover Substance Use Disorder Treatment

ReDiscover's substance use disorder (SUD) programming offers a range of behavioral health services, from urgent care and outpatient programs to residential treatment programs and recovery houses throughout Jackson County—but with particular focus on Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, southern Kansas City, Raytown and Grandview.

Jackson County residents struggling with SUD experience a variety of challenges and need both early intervention and ongoing treatment to reach and maintain a sufficient level of recovery. Many residents with SUDs do not have adequate health coverage, are unemployed, and do not have support systems in place.

ReDiscover's program focuses primarily adults aged 18-40 who struggle with maintaining their SUD and often have co-occurring mental health needs. The typical client lives in Jackson County, is involved with the family and criminal justice systems. They need intensive, multidisciplinary treatments under one clinical system that accepts uninsured patients.

ReDiscover's SUD programming spectrum encompasses a variety of activities that help individuals overcome these barriers.

Substance use disorder programming begins with an initial assessment with a licensed qualified mental health professional to determine eligibility and intensity of treatment need. The specific substance use program depends on the needs and considerations of the client and what level of services they needs.

 ReDiscover's SUD programming includes:

• Coed Treatment Services offering intensive substance use outpatient and residential treatment.

• The Women and Children's Program specifically for mothers with children.

• Catherine's Place, a transitional living recovery home that gives women some independence yet help to resolve the barriers preventing them from living independently. (Children are welcome to live with their mothers at Catherine's Place)

• Treatment Options Program (TOP) is for adult clients who have a primary substance use disorder of opioid use, either moderate or severe.

• Transitions Program, like TOP, offered at a different location.

Program Summary: The purpose of the Coed Treatment Services and Women and Children’s program is to reduce alcohol and/or drug use and reduce crime and violence among residents of Jackson County -- with particular focus on Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, southern Kansas City, Raytown and Grandview. This area includes just under one-third of the county's total population.

ReDiscover serves all individuals in need of behavioral health services, including substance use and mental health services. However, this program focuses on individuals living in Jackson County who are involved with the family and criminal justice systems and need concurrent substance use treatment, mental health treatment and supportive services.

These individuals also experience barriers to treatment, such as lack of adequate health insurance coverage, unemployment, and loss of support systems. Clients require comprehensive, continuous, and recovery-focused care.
