Benilde Hall Substance Abuse Treatment Program

Benilde Hall is expanding and enhancing its comprehensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based Substance Abuse Treatment (SAT) program. SAT provides residential housing and substance use disorder and mental health treatment for homeless adult males (ages 18 and up) experiencing chemical dependency. COMBAT funds support three key areas of our program:

1) salaries and benefits of qualified, trained, and experienced staff, who will deliver counseling, case management, group education, and other support services directly to clients;

2) direct program costs, including drug testing and housing supplies;

3) staff training and certification costs around evidence-based practices; and

4) bed nights for clients staying beyond the funded 45-day period.

This program fulfills our mission and vision to provide a continuum of quality care services in a therapeutic recovery community that help men struggling with substance use disorder and mental illness, so that they may return to the community as responsible, employed, permanently housed, and contributing members of society. Further, it carries out our commitment to continue services and never turn away those men in need on their recovery journey, regardless of funding.

Goals

The goal is to continue and enhance the residential inpatient SAT program, providing 500 homeless adult males with housing and supportive services. The SAT program equips them with the skills and tools they need to live healthy, sober lifestyles and secure stable income and permanent housing.
