Every day 2,000 children are reported missing across the United States. Amber Alerts are only issued if law enforcement agencies believe a child is in imminent danger of bodily harm—and when there’s an adequate description of the child and the possible abduction (suspect, vehicle, etc.) available.

The Kansas City Police Department’s D.A.R.E. program hosted an event last Friday (September 4) at the MLB Urban Youth Academy to help make getting that descriptive information about a child out as quick as possible. The KCPD invited families to have their child participate in the EZ Child ID process, which includes getting photographs and fingerprints, and providing families with ID cards as well as an EZ ID Kit form. 

EZ Child ID is a partner of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
